A Healing Hand for Animals: My Desire to Support Rescues Through Reiki

Animals experience emotions more deeply than many people realize. Horses, dogs, cats, and other rescued animals may carry the effects of abandonment, neglect, abuse, displacement, or sudden changes in their environment. Although they cannot explain their experiences with words, their fear and anxiety may appear through withdrawn behavior, restlessness, mistrust, nervousness, or difficulty adjusting to human touch.

As a Reiki Master and the founder of Enjoli Soul Scents LLC, I am interested in partnering with horse rescues, animal shelters, sanctuaries, foster organizations, and other animal-welfare programs to offer gentle Reiki support to animals in need.

Reiki is a noninvasive energy-healing practice intended to encourage relaxation, balance, and a greater sense of peace. A Reiki practitioner does not need to restrain or force physical contact with an animal. Sessions can be offered quietly from a respectful distance, allowing each animal to decide how close it wants to be and how long it wishes to engage.

For rescued animals, this gentle approach may be especially meaningful. My intention would be to create a calm, compassionate space that may help animals:

• Settle into a new or unfamiliar environment • Experience greater relaxation during stressful periods • Feel safer in the presence of caring humans • Release nervous or guarded energy at their own pace • Receive emotional support alongside veterinary and behavioral care • Prepare for adoption, fostering, transportation, or rehabilitation • Find comfort during illness, recovery, aging, or end-of-life care

I feel especially drawn to working with horses. Horses are deeply intuitive and emotionally sensitive animals. Their strength is undeniable, yet they can also carry fear, grief, and trauma from past treatment. I would be honored to support rescued horses as they rebuild trust, adjust to safer surroundings, and reconnect with compassionate human care.

My interest is not limited to horses. I welcome opportunities to support dogs, cats, farm animals, and other rescued animals whose caregivers believe they may benefit from a peaceful Reiki experience.

Animal Reiki is not a replacement for veterinary treatment, medication, professional training, or behavioral therapy. It is a complementary wellness practice that may be used alongside the animal’s existing care plan. The animal’s comfort, consent, boundaries, and safety must always come first.

I would love to connect with rescue directors, shelter teams, foster networks, sanctuary owners, veterinarians, animal advocates, and nonprofit organizations interested in exploring Reiki as an additional form of compassionate support. I am open to volunteer opportunities, rescue partnerships, wellness events, educational demonstrations, and customized sessions based on the needs of each organization.

Every rescued animal deserves to experience patience, dignity, safety, and love. If Reiki can help provide even a few moments of calm to an animal learning how to feel safe again, that is work I would be deeply honored to do.

If you represent an animal rescue, horse sanctuary, shelter, foster program, or animal-welfare organization and would like to discuss a possible partnership, please contact Enjoli Soul Scents LLC through our website.

Let us work together to bring peace, comfort, and compassionate energy to the animals who need it most.
